How do I enroll in Excel High School?

Enrollment into Excel High School is quite simple. Students/parents should complete the enrollment application online and submit the application electronically; or print and complete the PDF application and return it with tuition payment to:

All applications must be completed in full and signed either digitally or in print format. Excel High School accepts all major credit cards, cashier’s checks, money orders or personal checks for tuition payment. Once your application is received by an enrollment counselor, we will make contact with the student/parent within 24-hours to plan your desired course(s). Course access will be granted once payment for the course(s) has been received by Excel. Adult students enrolling into the High School Equivalency Certificate program will be given immediate access to their online program.

Students will be given course access within hours of enrollment.

Is Excel High School Accredited?

Excel High School is Regionally Accredited by AdvancED and the North Central Association CASI for High School Courses and High School Diploma Programs. Our Regionally accredited online high school diploma (9-12), and all credits earned at Excel High School are accepted by other K-12 schools, Colleges, Universities, the Military and Employers.

The North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) are accreditation divisions of AdvancED. AdvancED, NCA CASI is the largest Government recognized accrediting agency in the world extending to 70-counties and 26,000 schools.

What Programs are Offered by Excel High School?

Excel High School offers a College Prep. High School Diploma, a General Studies High School Diploma, Adult High School Diplomas (9-12), and we also offer an Adult High School Equivalency Certificate Credential. All Our programs are designed for students to pursue higher education through a Community College, Career College, Technical College or University. Credentials earned at Excel High School are also designed to meet requirements for entry level employment. We advise students to call our counseling office at (952) 465-3700 so we can help you with college and career planning. The HSEC program is generally accepted at 2-year public institutions and employers. For Students seeking entrance into a 4-year University, we offer a college prep (24-credit) diploma. Excel High School does not offer a GED ® test leading to a GED ® test credential. The GED ® test is only available in person at a local testing office.

Excel College is a State Registered Colleges and offers online degree programs in Business, and General Studies.

Can I use a diploma from Excel High School to enroll into college, join the military or gain employment?

Yes! Excel High School has a solid reputation within the academic community. Our graduates are able to pursue employment, post-secondary education or join the military with their EHS Diploma. All colleges, universities and employers accept credentials issued by a Regionally Accredited High School. Excel High School’s Accreditation is recognized by all 50-States Departments’ of Education and the US Department of Education.

Is Excel High School available to everyone?

As long as you meet Excel's minimum admission requirements, and have determined that you would be a great online student, we invite students from any location around the world to enroll into Excel and its high school diploma or high school equivalency programs. We do not set any geographical boundaries. International students make up a good part of our student body. Excel High School uses Educational Credential Evaluators, to evaluate transfer credits from foreign institutions. Excel thrives on diversity and feels our diverse student body is what sets us apart from other traditional American high schools. We truly offer a well-round and diversified learning experience. We serve students all over the world and are experts at working from a distance. Excel High School is an Accredited International High School. Any student age 14+ who has completed 8th grade may enroll at Excel High School.

When can I start?

You can Start Today! Excel High School courses are taught 4-month semesters, similar to a college semester. Excel High School online courses are self-paced and can be taken at any time. Our high school diploma programs and High School Equivalency Certificate Programs are geared toward today's busy lifestyle, and we offer a great deal of flexibility to our students'. Whether you want to work toward a high school equivalency certificate or take full time high school classes following our semester schedule format.

How do I know if online learning right for me?

A successful online learner must be a motivated self-starter and committed to the success of their education. While Excel High School offers a world-class education, it is ultimately up to the student to succeed. That can only be achieved by putting forth a lot of effort. Like anything, the more you put into your education the greater the benefit. Before you decide whether our college-prep courses, high school diploma programs and High School Equivalency Certificate Programs are right for you, we suggest that you take our quick assessment: Is online learning right for me?

Can I attend Excel on a full or part time basis?

YES! Excel High School offers credit recovery and summer school courses online. We want to help students’ graduate on-time! It is our intention to provide students with whatever level of service they require. We can offer a full curriculum for grades 9-12; Standard and Honors Courses, or just one or two courses to satisfy your current school's graduation requirements. We also offer self-paced credit recovery courses and supplemental courses to help you complete your high school diploma. Our online courses and high school diploma are also an excellent option for home schooled children. We offer well over 100-accredited courses.

You will notice the cost to attend Excel High School is less than half the cost of comparable accredited private high schools in the US. It is our goal to keep education affordable for everyone. Since we are able to keep our costs low, we pass these savings on to our students. We have no buildings to maintain, other than our administration offices; we have no schools busses to operate; we do not employ a facilities maintenance crew; we do not offer school lunch programs; so you can quickly see how we can be such an affordable option.

Why isn’t Excel High School free?

Unlike a public high school, Excel does not receive any State or Federal funding whatsoever. Students are supported by the tuition they pay to the school. Excel High School is the most affordable Regionally accredited online high school. We do our best to keep costs low for our students and their families.

Does Excel offer payment options?

Who teaches the online courses at Excel?

All online high school courses and programs are taught by highly qualified, State licensed instructors that hold at least a Master, or PhD degree and state teaching license relative to each instructor’s area of expertise. You can be sure that quality in education is our #1 goal!

What if the student has questions or problems while taking a course?

Each student is assigned an instructor and advisor for each course. Your instructor is available daily via Internet chat, email, Skype, Google+ or telephone. Support services are available to all Excel High School students.

What is the difference between Excel and traditional brick-and-mortar college-preparatory American high schools?

There is no difference in the college-preparatory curriculum between Excel and traditional American high schools. There is a significant difference in the flexibility offered to all Excel students in the way they can earn their high school credits online.

Is Excel less challenging than other traditional accredited American high schools?

Simply put, No! As an accredited American high school, Excel offers a flexible alternative for students; it is not an easier option than traditional accredited high schools. At Excel, every student has a "front row seat." All courses are written at or above grade level and require an average of one to two hours of focused study on a daily basis to complete one course within the traditional semester time frame. Our courses engage students in real-life projects, requiring the use of critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply the knowledge they have acquired.

As a parent will I be kept informed of my students' progress?

Absolutely! As a parent, you will most likely be receiving more updates and information about your student's progress than ever before. We strongly feel that a parent's involvement in their child's education is critical to their overall success. Our teachers provide ongoing online reports to parents. You can always see how your child is performing by logging in to the Excel parents' section of our website. In addition, all full time high school students and their parents sign a parent/student/teacher contract each semester, which further strengthens the commitment to succeed on the part of everyone involved.

Who are Excel students?

Excel students are athletes, performers, military families and students who benefit from individualized instruction, students who prefer to accelerate, international students seeking an American high School diploma, part-time students, students who travel, Adult students returning to high school, home school and summer school students. Through our various high school diploma programs, high school equivalency certificate programs and courses, they can earn their high school credits online. Excel partners with public school districts and private schools in the US to help educate their alternative students and aid in meeting online initiatives. We also offer adults an opportunity to complete their education online through our high school diploma programs (9-12) or our HSEC equivalency certificate program. For those needing a GED ® test prep course to prepare for the GED ® test, our GED ® test prep course offers an excellent opportunity to prepare for the official in person test. Our adult high school equivalency certificate programs are geared for those adults who see the value of completing their high school equivalency certificate online. Does Excel Offer College Courses?

Excel College is Registered with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education as a degree granting post-secondary institution. Students wishing to continue on with Excel College are encouraged to do so after completing their high school diploma.
