Excel High School Credit Transfer Policy

Excel High School welcomes transfer credits from other US accredited schools and from schools all over the world. Excel High School will accept transfer credits from other Department of Education recognized, accredited high schools, public schools, charter schools, qualified homeschools, and from accredited International schools that are recognized by a foreign Ministry of Education.

Excel High School has adopted the following policy for credit transfer. Excel High School will accept up to 75% of transfer credits toward high school graduation. This means that regardless of how many credits a student has earned from a previous school, students must complete a minimum of 5-6 credits at EHS before a diploma will be issued.

Homeschool credits and transfer

Homeschool credits will be accepted according to the following policy: (Click here)

International students and transfer credits

International/foreign (non-US credits) will be accepted when verified and evaluated by one of the agencies listed below. Our evaluation partners are members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). International students wishing to transfer credits to EHS from outside of the US system are required to have their credits evaluated by one of the organizations listed below. Students are responsible for arranging credential evaluators to evaluate credits and have a transcript report forwarded to Excel High School. Students are responsible for all fees. Transfer credit reports must be sent directly from a credential evaluation service to Excel High School. We do not accept transcripts directly from students. This is the only method by which Excel High School will accept credits from other nations. Excel High School requires a course-by-course assessment of all credits transferred.

  • IMPORTANT: Excel requires credits earned, course listing, and grades earned on the evaluation report.

Excel requires an Educational Credential Evaluation from Scholaro for consideration of international credit transfer. Visit: Scholaro for details.

Excel High School is a great school! My daughter was in another online high school last year, but she was not challenged and was not being prepared for college.

Since starting this year at Excel, she is being fully challenged in honors courses. My daughter told me the other day, "mom, I have never had to work so hard in school". We love you Excel High School and Anna will be with you until she graduates next year.

Testimonial from Susan M. – Minneapolis, MN
