How Long Does It Take To Graduate?
Because every learner is a unique individual, how long it takes for you to complete your classes will be as unique as you are. I’ve got answers for you based on the programs you might be enrolled in:
Standard/Honors/AP High School Aged Students:
If you’re a high school aged student, you can move on to the next grade level as soon as you have successfully completed and passed the coursework for your current grade level according to your program’s requirements. If your tuition is paid off for the current grade level, you can move on to your next grade level. This means that you can graduate as early as age 16 as long as you’ve passed the SAT with a score of 1270 or the ACT with a score of 26.
Students have to earn a minimum number of credits to graduate. These are the minimum credits required to graduate, not taking into account the credit expectations for college bound students, Honors students, or AP program students. You can see that information under the section titled Graduation Requirements & Course Planning. The minimum number of credits to graduate are as follows:
- 4 credits of English/Language Arts
- 3 credits of Math
- 3 credits of Science
- 3.5 credits of Social Studies
- 8 credits of electives
If you are an incoming 12th grade high school student transferring in up to 75% of their credits from another school, you have to complete a minimum of 1 English credit, 1 Math credit, 1 Science credit, 1 Social Studies credit, and 2 elective credits to graduate from EHS. Your transferred credits + the 6 credits you complete at EHS have to meet minimum graduation requirements.
Once you meet all of the graduation requirements and your records are up to date, our Registrar’s office will begin working on mailing a copy of your transcript and your diploma to the address in your student account.
Adult Program Students:
Adult program students take the fast track to their high school diplomas. You can transfer up to 75% of your required credits, leaving a minimum of 1 English credit, 1 Math credit, 1 Science credit, 1 Social Studies credit, and 2 elective credits to graduate from EHS.
The total minimum number of credits to graduate are as follows:
- 4 credits of English/Language Arts
- 3 credits of Math
- 3 credits of Science
- 3.5 credits of Social Studies
- 8 credits of electives
As adult students complete their classes from the above credit categories, they are assigned the next required credit, helping them move through their program as quickly as their time and motivation allow.
Once you meet all of the graduation requirements and your records are up to date, our Registrar’s office will begin working on mailing a copy of your transcript and your diploma to the address in your student account.
