Why Online School is Better than Traditional Learning

August 20, 2012 by official

There are a lot of benefits to homeschooling your children.

1. You don’t have to worry about what school district you’re in.

Not all schools are created equally.  It would be nice if they were, but that’s just not the case.  Depending on where you live, your local school might have poor funding, uncaring teachers, or worse, an unhealthy student environment.

With home schooling you get much more environmental control.

2. You know exactly what your child is learning.

Since you’re going along each class with your child, you get the benefit of learning what they learn.  You know what subjects they have covered, what information they have absorbed, and how they can use that in their life.

3. The classroom is customized to your child.

Public schools have classrooms filled with all sorts of students who have all sorts of learning styles.  With homeschooling, those variables are removed.  The teach is interacting directly with the student.

4. Schedules are adjustable.

Public school hours are set in stone.  If a student is not there, they are considered absent and must make up the time missed.  With homeschooling, a child is free to learn whenever is most convenient.  If your family is taking a trip or vacation, you can take school with you.

What Does this Have to Do with Online School?

Well, with an online school, you get all those benefits of homeschooling and more.  With an online school, you get endless resources and different teachers for different subjects.  Your child isn’t isolated from the world but able to work side by side with other students going through the same programs.

With an online school, your child is being pushed and challenged and encouraged to interact.  But, they’re able to do it on their schedule with you right beside them if needed.

Excel High School is a great school! My daughter was in another online high school last year, but she was not challenged and was not being prepared for college.

Since starting this year at Excel, she is being fully challenged in honors courses. My daughter told me the other day, "mom, I have never had to work so hard in school". We love you Excel High School and Anna will be with you until she graduates next year.
