Excel Education Systems Recieves Candidate Status for Corporate Systems Accreditation with AdvancED

Rod Clarkson, CEO, announced that Excel Education Systems has become a candidate for AdvancED Corporate Systems Accreditation. On June 9th, 2016, Excel Education Systems hosted a readiness visit led by Dr. Claudia Carter, AdvancED’s Vice President, and Dr. Elaine Bauman, AdvancED’s Minnesota Director. The outcome of the readiness visit established that Excel schools are ready to move through the process of AdvancED Corporate Systems Accreditation for our District. Excel’s leadership team is very grateful for the support and direction provided by the AdvancED readiness team.

AdvancED accreditation provides nationally recognized accreditation for the Excel Education Systems to include Excel Education Systems, Inc., Excel High School and Northgate Academy. To earn AdvancED Accreditation, the school system must meet the AdvancED accreditation standards; implement a continuous process of improvement, and host an external review team once every five years.

“The AdvancED accreditation review is a rigorous process that demonstrates to our students and stakeholders that we are focused on improving our school system’s performance and service to our constituents,” stated Mr. Clarkson.

Using the AdvancED Standards for Quality Systems as a framework, Excel Education Systems began the process by conducting a thorough self-assessment of its strengths and opportunities for improvement. Under the guidance of AdvancED, Excel Education Systems will move through the accreditation process toward the external review to be hosted in 2017.

Excel schools will spend the next 12-months preparing for the external review. Excel will host an AdvancED Quality Assurance Review team comprised of trained education professionals from across the nation and the State of Minnesota. The external review team will visit Excel’s schools to evaluate the systems’ self-assessment, determine the degree to which the school system meets the AdvancED accreditation standards, and make an accreditation recommendation based on its findings. It should be noted that Excel High School has held AdvancED accreditation since 2011.

“Excel Education Systems is a great school system,” stated Mr. Clarkson. “We strongly believe that the AdvancED accreditation process will make our school system even better. Our school system will benefit greatly by committing to examine all of our processes and policies to determine how we can best serve our students and stakeholders”.
