The realms of social emotional learning become a major priority for your middle schooler’s brain, and you enter into a period where teaching them how to practice empathy increases in importance.
Students crave connection and interaction, and an online setting can make that difficult to achieve. At Excel Education Systems, we understand this important socio-emotional need, so we’ve launched a new opportunity for our students to connect and engage with each other and our staff. Excel Middle School students have the chance to participate in Conversation Club, while Excel High School aged students can sign up for High School Hangout.
Movies, TV Shows, YouTube channels, and book series have all been dedicated to the high school experience. Sure they’re fun to watch or read, but most of them don’t show the real experience. The drama of those high school shows or books are fun, but they don’t really prepare you for the parts of high school outside of the social aspects. Sure, navigating the social side of your transition is important, but what about academics?
