GED ® test Information

GED ® test stands for General Educational Development.

The GED Testing Service ®, a joint venture of the American Council on Education and Pearson VUE, a for profit education company. Pearson is the sole developer for the GED® test.

The official GED ® test can only be taken in person at an official testing center. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. There is no online test that can lead to a GED ® test credential. The official GED ® test is not available online anywhere, from any school.

Now that we have established that you cannot take the official GED test ® leading to a GED credential online, let’s look at some programs that can be taken online. Students can prepare for the GED ® test, by taking online preparation courses. High school diplomas and some accredited high school equivalency programs can be completed online; as long as the school has accreditation that is recognized by the State and/or US Dept. of Education. What is the GED ® test?
